‘I love working with our young leaders as part of Authoring Our Own Stories, its been am amazing journey supporting young people to lead a piece of really important peer-led research, enabling them to influence decisions made about the services they themselves receive and the young people they represent.
Others think I’m a bit too enthusiastic, I think that’s what it takes to work with young people, energy and enthusiasm. I studied Sociology and social policy at University, I started by volunteering at a young age, charity shops, youth centres, church, nursing homes. I went onto to support Young people in a secondary school working in the SEND department, I then went onto manage the English as Additional Language department; I covered in a variety of different schools; mainstream, SEND and referral Units after leaving these roles before moving into Youth Voice Coordinating Barnsley Youth Council’
