We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly skilled Lecturer in Community and Youth Work Studies to join our Applied Studies team. We are a friendly, progressive and professional team with an excellent reputation for providing high quality teaching and learning and student support. The successful candidate will contribute to our undergraduate Community and Youth Work Studies programme, as well as to the new MA in Childhood and Youth Studies and associated programmes. The role will involve module leadership, teaching and assessment, student supervision/support and curriculum development. You will support activities across the Applied Studies team and contribute to the research profile of the School of Social Sciences within the Faculty of Education and Society by engaging in the School’s strong research culture.

Applications are invited from candidates who have JNC qualified Youth Worker status, a strong track record of working with young people and communities and a commitment to high quality teaching in a Higher Education environment. Experience in Community Development is also desirable.

Candidates should be qualified to at least Masters level and have teaching experience in the HE sector. A teaching qualification and/ or HEA fellowship are also desirable. You will contribute to the promotion of teaching, research and reach-out activities across the Faculty of Education and Society and particularly the School of Social Sciences.
