Yorkshire MESMAC - Operations Manager (Post A) and Training and Development Worker (Post B)
Yorkshire MESMAC provides a diverse portfolio of services from five bases across West and North Yorkshire, including health promotion work with LGB&T communties, social support services for people living with and affected by HIV and work supporting young men and boys being, or at risk of being, sexually exploited. The Charity is seeking to appoint to the following posts.
Operations Manager - Post A
Your overall aims will be:
- to ensure that all Yorkshire MESMAC staff and volunteers are well managed and supported in their roles.
- to develop, maintain and monitor systems that ensure that the contractual responsibilities of Yorkshire MESMAC's group of services are met.
Training and Development Worker - Young men and boys being or at risk of being sexually exploited - Post B
This Comic Relief funded post will see you:
- developing, marketing and delivering a portfolio of training interventions, that supply participants with the knowledge and skills needed to identify sexual exploitation and allow them to take appropriate action
- Undertaking outreach work where young men and boys being or at risk of being sexually exploited may be including the streets, and institutions.
We expect all our staff to be able to demonstrate the following core competencies.

One Community - Major Gifts Manager
Salary: £25k to £28k
One Community is the new Community Foundation for Kirklees. We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed person to lead the Foundation's fund-building through its early years. You will have demonstrated your energy and effectiveness in a similar role in your recent career and be ready to provide leadership for this exciting new project over the next three formative years, with every opportunity to develop both the Foundation and your own role within it.
Reporting directly to the Trustees, this key appointment will include responsibility for attracting and securing new income from individual and corporate donors, charitable trusts and events, as well as representing the Foundation in public and professional arenas.
You will be challenged to display your initiative, demonstrate your negotiation skills and build strong relationships within the local community. You will need to be highly motivated, with the ability to inspire, as well as the will to deliver tangible results on target.

Sheffield Young Carers Project - Full-time Young People's Worker (Young Carers Work)
Salary: £21,500 full time, this post is open to job share. This post is funded for one year initially, further funding is being sought to continue this work.
Hours: 35 hours per week including regular evening work, with some weekend and residential work.
Sheffield Young Carers Project has a vacancy for a highly motivated young person's worker who will be working across the 8 to 21 age range. The work will include facilitating groups across the city, undertaking referrals and individual work.
Sheffield Young Carers Project is a service for young people, aged between 8 and 21, who are taking on a substantial caring role for someone who maybe a friend or relative who has a disability, severe illness, mental health needs, or who have a drug/alcohol dependency. It provides support and a regular programme of activities for those taking on a caring role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, vibrant organisation where your ideas and contributions will be highly valued. You will have:
- A relevant qualification in Youth work or Community Development work or at least 2 years' experience of working with children and young people in any of the following fields: youth community work, education, health, PA/Connexions work, social care and the voluntary sector
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the key issues that affect the health and well being of children and young people taking on a caring role
- Skills and experience of group work facilitation and individual support
- Transferable skills and ability to work across the age range.

Rural Action Yorkshire - Rural Network Development Coordinator (Rotherham and Sheffield)
Part-time 17.5 hours per week
Rural Action Yorkshire are looking for an able and energetic person with experience working with rural communities to establish a rural network for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in the South Yorkshire districts of Rotherham and Sheffield.
Working with our partners, the aim of the network will be to improve support services for rural VCS organisations. Success in this role will ensure that rural communities will be more sustainable and have an effective voice on the development of policy in the sub-region. In return, we can offer flexible working based in South Yorkshire.

Oxfam and Bradford Resource Centre - Part-time Community Researchers Needed
Oxfam and Bradford Resource Centre are running a research project to explore the impact of the recession on Bradford District.
- We are looking for 6-8 people to work with us as community researchers on this project. Each community researcher will interview between 10 and 15 people, in pairs, including some people from your neighbourhood.
- The areas we are working in are: Barkerend/Bradford Moor; Little Horton/Canterbury; Green Lane Manningham; Oak Lane Manningham; Pollard Park/North Wing/Church Bank; and Keighley Central/Lawkholme.
- You will also take part in later stages of the research including analysis and feedback sessions to check the findings with the wider community.
- You will be paid for your time, and full training and support will be provided.
