Barnardo’s Positive Identities Service works to raise awareness around sexual identities and gender identities, and prevent discrimination and prejudice. We support young people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Trans and Questioning (LGBTQ) and work to tackle Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic (HBT) discrimination and bullying, striving for a more equal society in which everyone feels able to be proud of and celebrate who they are.

With funding from the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) we have developed 5 resources packs to increase awareness of the additional vulnerabilities LGBTQ young people can encounter in relation to:

· Hate Crime
· Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
· Internet Safety
· Domestic Violence
· Faith, Culture & Belief.

This event will be launching the packs that have been developed by Barnardo’s & West Yorkshire Police. The 5 resource packs will be available as a free resource for all following the launch event.

Book your place now to listen to the background & development this exciting new resource. We will be joined by:

Mark Burns-Williamson, Police & Crime Commissioner for West Yorkshire

Stephen Oversby, Director, Barnardos East

Darren Minton, Safeguarding, West Yorkshire Police

The event starts at 11:30 with a marketplace where local organisations will be available to discuss the work that they are currently undertaking in our local community to assist LGBTQ young people. A light lunch & refreshments will also be available.

Please book your free place to the event early, to avoid disappointment!
