VYON
VYON is a key strategic group within the unit and meets regularly with LA colleagues to discuss and inform policy developments as they affect young people and to set the priorities for the Unit's work and related operational groups.
VYON seeks to become the representative voice of the voluntary and community youth sector in the region. They wish to offer more support in particular to the development of umbrella youth bodies in each of the LA areas to in turn support small local voluntary and community youth organisations. Bill Eve supports the group as the part-time Development Officer.
VCS Engage self assessment toolkit
This could be a very useful toolkit where local authority officers or members of Children's Trust boards agree to sit down with Voluntary sector representatives to review the level of input made by the Voluntary Sector into strategic plans and service provision.
